Get to Know Aaron Cerkas, Millwork Manager of Burger Boat Company

My career began as a cabinetmaker. This is where I found my passion for creating almost anything relating to wood, including interiors.

I started with Burger in July 2004 and worked through July 2011. I returned in March 2017, so collectively, I have been with Burger for 11 years. In my current role as Millwork Manager, I lead all activities of the joiner shop, including managing its personnel. I truly value, and enjoy, establishing good relationships with my team and look forward to working with, and mentoring, new associates so that we may become a united, cohesive team.

Burger’s dynamic work environment, and the outstanding people that I get to work with, are the two things I like most about working at Burger.

Personally, I have taken a renewed interest in my health and fitness; both mentally and physically. I have found this to have huge benefits into my personal well-being and like to think it benefits those around me. Most people do not know that I was once an alcoholic. I have since recovered and am very passionate about helping others overcome their addictions.

I am a graduate of Lakeshore Technical College with an Associate Degree in Manufacturing Management. In addition, I have completed several Dale Carnegie courses focusing on leadership development and people skills.

I have lived in Manitowoc my entire life. It is a great community in which to work and raise a family. My wonderful wife Lisa and I have been married for almost 22 years. We have three boys, Mason, Mitchell, and Jacob. I truly love being a father to my children, and it is very rewarding watching them grow into such fine young men. We also have two cats, Pumpkin and Pepper.
